My Family

This week has gone by SO fast. I can't even believe that today is already Thursday. I am not complaining at all, but there was a time when life didn't seem to just fly by.
Remember the days of playing outside with your friends as a kid and your summer seemed to last forever.......where did those days go?

Luke has a hockey game tonight in Mound, but I need to get home for my dogs. Speaking of dogs....Sadie, our black lab, well her new nickname is Sadie Houdini. She learned a couple weeks ago how to get out of her kennel and now we only put Hogan in the kennel during the day. She is good out of her kennel, she just sleeps on the couch all day. But I do kind of feel bad putting Hogan in his kennel. But he loves his kennel, he goes right in. He is too much of a nervous nelly to be out of his kennel all day long. And if I would leave the 2 of them out, then they would probably play too much and Luke and I always laugh about one of them flying over the wall in our living room and falling down the stairs......hahaha. That is funny, but would be so sad, yeah, so Hogan stays in his kennel.

With the Olympics on we are glued to the TV every night. We just love watching the Olympics. Luke even watched the couples figure skating with me. Though we did have to laugh when they fell. I know that is mean, but kind of funny, right!? :)

That is all for now.

Have a good rest of your week.

Warm Weather Itch

I feel like everyone is talking about their warm weather trips they are taking and going on. I do get to go out of town next weekend, however we are headed to Fargo. Last year it was so cold when the hockey team went to Fargo the parents had to get up in the middle of the night and start their cars and let them run. Great. Pretty sure I will be living in my long underwear for the weekend!

I am thinking of venturing to the tanning booth for just a few sessions so that I can pretend I am lying on the beach soaking in the rays. Aaaaah, that sounds so nice right now.

Luke's team took 1st place in the White Bear Lake Squirt A Hockey Tournament. It was a ton of fun watching the kids play so well and win. We headed last night from White Bear Lake to Plymouth to celebrate and didn't get home until almost midnight. It was a long day, but very fun.

I woke up on Sunday morning to the best present ever for Valentine's Day......Coffee from Caribou :) I also had a dozen roses given to me the day before. I am not a big Valentine's Day person, but I did love the roses and coffee!

Looking at another pretty busy week.

You may feel it is useless to talk about your grief because no one truly understands what you are going through.

"You sometimes feel after an experience like this that you're talking a foreign language," says Dora, whose daughter died. "You feel like there's no way anybody can know what you're feeling. There is absolutely no way anyone can know the depth of your pain. So you feel like it's futile to talk about it because words can't express the pain."

Although countless people have experienced grief before you, each person's response to grief is different. Your path of grief will be uniquely your own.
Be encouraged that regardless of how your grief appears to you or others, it has a precious uniqueness to the One who created you. God, who knows intimately your personality, your relationships, and the experiences of your life, knows your grief and isn't shocked or surprised by your responses.

"O LORD, You have examined my heart and know everything about me. . . . Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. . . . You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed" (Psalm 139:1, 14, 16 NLT).

Father, thank You that my way of grieving is distinctly my own, reflective of all You have sovereignly created me to be and experience. Amen.

The best part of my weekend was running outside in the sunshine! I can't wait until it is nice again so I can really start running outside. Thankfully it was 18 degrees out!

Sick Day

I have been fighting some kind of virus the past couple days. So after feeling horrible all day at work yesterday, I took today off to rest at home.
