I haven't blogged in WAY too long! Sorry friends.
So last weekend I got my hair chopped and colored, went to Narrows in Maple Grove where my sister and Ana joined Luke and I. The evening included beer, shots and dancing....of course you only know the dancing happened because of the first 2 things :) I had my work party Saturday and then we went and saw The Sound of Music at the Ordway on Sunday. Needless to say, it was a busy weekend.
Last week, insane at work....I think it was just stressful because I kept thinking of everything I had to do to prepare for Christmas. I feel a little bit like a Grinch this year. I didn't really put the time and care into peoples presents like I usually do and really didn't have the money too either.
However, this past Friday = NOT FUN! I get this sharp pain in my lower right side when I move a certain way. Well I was sitting at work on Friday, went to get up and had such excruciating pain that I had an Adrenalin rush and almost fainted. I was shaking, dizzy, running a slight fever and sick to my stomach after that. After a call to my mom the nurse and then my doctor, I was informed to go into the ER RIGHT AWAY! I was scared to death!
The hospital was traumatic for more than 1 reason. As I was being examined by the doctor he says to me, "So I looked over your chart and it looks like you had an elected Abortion." I looked him straight in the eye and yelled, "NO!" and then started balling. How insensitive could a doctor be! Then he says, "well Anencephalcy." NO SHIT! SHUT UP YOU BASTARD!!! That is what I wanted to yell. As he pushed on the right side of my stomach where Brian Lucas had been all I could do was cry.
This time of year has been really hard for me, I don't know if it is because what we faced this last year or why, but it has been difficult.
Also, I keep having dream about Bethany and Kurbis. Seriously, every night. I have dreams that I am in Africa with her and she is showing me around, introducing me to everyone she has met and the beautiful land. Bethany, know I am with you in my dreams! :) Ok, that sounded a little too much, but you know what I mean :)
As far as Christmas is concerned, I can't believe it is tomorrow. AHHHHH!!!! Then Luke and I leave on Wed. for Toronto.
Also, I wanted everyone to know that I don't think I am sending a Christmas card this year. I know I have sent one for the past 3 years, but Seriously Christmas came soo fast this year I haven't had any time to do anything, I just finished up shopping yesterday!
Well Luke and I wish you all the best this Christmas.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Love, Ali
Welcome to my life as it is...Here is where I will write my thoughts on life and where it takes Luke and I. Enjoy!

And I'm Spent
Luke and I had an extremely busy weekend. Friday night I got my hair colored and cut....shorter and darker. After that we met my sister, her friends and Ana at the Narrows in Maple Grove to watch Luke's boss's band, The Sneaches play. It was a night of beers and dancing, what more can you ask for?
Saturday I ventured to my neighbors house for the cookie exchange. Never again will I make cut-out cookies! But I did get about 7 dozen different kinds of cookies! After that Luke and I went and saw my grandma in the hospital she wasn't doing to well. Thankfully she is doing better and will be getting out of the hospital today.
Sunday I was exhausted from all the fun so I vegged on the couch snuggling with my dogs. At about 5pm we went to my parents and then to the Sound of Music at the Ordway. It was one of the best musicals I had ever seen.
But needless to say I am so tired today and feel like large amounts of caffeine that I have been pumping into my body are not giving me the normal energy I have. Oh well....
On a side note, our friends had their baby this weekend, Landon Timothy was his name. So they used the boy name we liked, I am just fine w/ that. Luke was the one who really loved it, I wasn't super crazy about it for us.
Until next time.

Goodbye is Said
So tonight I said my final goodbye over the phone to Bethany. It was really strange to think about the fact that I don't know when I will hear her voice again. Really, I don't even know the next time I will email/chat with her online since they don't have the Internet at the compound where she will be staying for Christmas in Uganda. before she gets to Yei, Sudan. Wow...crazy times. Everyone, please pray for Bethany, that she will have safe travels and no problems. I already miss her! I am so excited for her to go be with her husband....Lord knows I could never handle 5 out of 9 months away from mine. So Bethany, I wish you well and can't wait to hear stories about your adventures in Africa! Off you go! God Speed!
I LOVE CELINE DION
So last night I got home to find a package in the mail for me. I opened it up and saw a card and a wrapped present just for me....I was so excited. I considered waiting until Christmas to open the present, but I just couldn't resist. I ripped open the wrapping paper and found the new Celine Dion CD staring straight at me. Ahhhhh....So nice. Thanks Nat! I love ya!

The Sick to my Stomach kinda Sad
Ok, so this weekend was good because I got to see my family that was in town from California and Virginia, but bad for these next couple reasons:
1. My car has something a matter with it and we had 2 estimates on it and they are both just over $1,400. How are we supposed to pay for that ? Nice Merry Christmas Luke and Ali. It makes me feel like I can't buy anything for anyone.
2. I found out that Luke's cholesterol is horrible. I get really scared, he needs to learn how to take care of himself. There is only so much a wife can say and do.
3. My best friend is leaving MN for 9+ months....I am sad. I am sad because she knows me so well and truly understands me. ahh! What am I going to do without seeing her face!
4. I watched the Preachers Wife tonight and for some reason am uncontrollably sad. I don't know if it everything that we have been hit with over the weekend. I mean, I had a good weekend, I had dinner with my family on Friday night, hung out with friends. Saturday, saw Naomi, who I haven't seen since they moved to CO. And today Sunday was able to spend more time with my family.
I feel the sick to my stomach kinda sad. The kind that takes over your body and all you want to do is cry. Sorry I am kinda being Debbie Downer, Wah Wah.... But, this is my life as it is blog and this is how I am feeling for the time being.

Goodbye's SUCK!
We had Bethany's GoodBye party last night. It was WONDERFUL! However, I can't believe that I have to say goodbye to her for 9 months!

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree
So finally, after looking at a bare tree since Sunday, Luke and I put the lights on our tree. Of course not without a "discussion" of how the lights should be strung on the tree. Each year we have this "discussion" of how the lights should be. I like to tuck them deep into the tree so you don't see the string of lights ....but Luke likes to just lay them around the tree any which way!!!! Aghh!!! It drives me crazy. You women know, there are just certain things that need to be, "OUR WAY of NO WAY!" To me, how Christmas lights are hung on a tree, is one of those things. As I hung the Christmas ornaments, I realized what a weird concept a Christmas tree is. Why do we hang ornaments with strange meaning of an event, a milestone in life, something we like, or a place we have been on a type of pine tree? If anyone has an answer, let me know!
So now the tree is hung with the stockings at care, in hope that St. Nikolaus will soon to be here!
(not sure if those are the words to the rhyme....definitely couldn't be on "don't forget the lyrics!")

Toronto Here We Come!
So the day after Christmas Luke and I will be heading to Toronto Canada. This is one of Luke's dreams in life, to see the Hockey Hall of Fame! Oh JOY! Actually most of you know my obession for hockey, so I am looking forward to it. We sat on the computer last night for about an hour looking at San Antonio, Boston, New York, California....everywhere I wanted to go was too many frequent flyer miles or too much for a hotel. So, Toronto Here Come the PETERSONS!

Good Thing I Have Dogs
I just found out tonight that a house 3 down from me got broke into. I think it was the hoodlam kids 2 houses down. The guy said there was no sign of forced entry and the only thing that was stolen were 3 computers....Damn Kids! However, I will make sure that doors are locked securely! Good thing I have dogs!
We are now "ONE OF THEM"
I woke up on Thursday morning to a beautiful day and enjoyed the Thanksgiving day parade. Luke and then headed to his Grandma's house where we ate WAY TOO MUCH and played Boggle, Left Right Center, Nerts (which all the girls play) and I colored the turkey like I do every year. We then headed home around 10pm. I was able to con Luke, and his two cousins, Nick and Drew to come to the Outlet Mall with me at Midnight when the shops opened. So before we left we threw down a shot of Patron (my favorite) and off we went as we waited in line for 30 minutes outside of Banana Republic. I realized at the time that we were now, "ONE OF THEM". One of those crazies that goes shopping in the middle of the night. However, we were very successful and got great deals!
The rest of the weekend we spent with Luke's family as we continued to eat at someones house every night. It was pretty much Thanksgiving every night for how much I ate! I am definitely going on a ........let's not eat for a long time diet!!!!
Yesterday, finally we were able to relax. We went out and got a tree and brought it home. It only took us about 5 minutes this year. We were convinced it was the perfect tree, until we got it home, put it in the stand, looked at it in awe and then........Luke walked to the other side. The tree was at a 45 degree angle....I think we got a crooked tree! Oh well....tonight we will be putting on lights and decorating it. I can't wait. I love this part of Christmas.
Well until next time. :)

Tuesday = Crabby day
I was so crabby today. Everything was annoying me. I hate being crabby and annoyed, but those days just come. I was dragged to Jazzercize tonight by my neighbor....thankfully :) It is so hard to leave the house once I am home.
Luke and I are watching the biggest loser on Tues. nights and it is such a powerful show....it is so neat to see people who are over weight changing their lives. And speaking of, Luke has got up early for 2 days so far and worked out in the morning! Yea! I am so proud of him. Pray that it continues, for his health he needs to be in good shape.
Not sure if I mentioned what I did over the weekend...Friday night....absolutely nothing...it was grand. Saturday I had a show and then Bethany slept over. We went to the Corner Bar w/ my neighbors and sang "Whos bed have your boots been under" for Karaokee!!! I can't wait to go back. Then on Sunday we ventured to the Outlet mall. It seems that every time I go shopping with Bethany she needs to get something but I end up spending more money...she just says she is a good "enabler", I guess she is right!
Well life is boring lately....sorry....hopefully something exciting will happen sometime soon :)

Almost There.........
Ok - So I know this is a really dumb way to do this...but....I am trying to reach a goal of $4000 in sales by the end of November. I am almost there. I need about 1 more party to get there. The reason I am trying to reach this goal is if I do, I get jewelry for the spring catalog at a great discount so I have new stuff with the new catalogs.
If ANYONE is interested in having a lia sophia party....please let me know! My hostess's are earning on average $200 in FREE JEWELRY!!!!
It is SO easy to host a party...please let me know if you are intersted, my schedule is very open the end of November!

So as December 13th approaches I contemplate how I will deal with the fact that my best friend is leaving the country. It is very strange to think that we won't have sleepovers for a REALLY long time and that she won't just be a phone call away when I want to tell her something exciting or need to cry.
God puts people into our lives for a reason, I am sure of that. But why does he allow us to share so much w/ people and then take them away? I don't understand. Even though my son was not here on this earth, we shared something special. And now my son is gone...Sad...I know...I won't be depressing anymore. But those questions still go through my mind. I wonder if I will feel sad when my best friend leaves, or if I will be ok, knowing that she is going to be happy and with her husband finally. I am so happy for our friends...I watched Him the past couple years struggle with discontent in life and finally after moving to Africa, he is happy, content...Praise GOD! I want to feel that kind of content that takes over your whole being. But is that possible in this crazy world we live in. With rushing to work in the morning....sitting in traffic...racing home after work to take care of your home and make dinner....then getting as much done in the evening during the week so you can actually rest on the weekend. Don't get me wrong. I love my life, I love my job(s) and I love my husband and the life we have together. But will we ever feel that all over complete sence of content....or is it something we won't have until we are with our Heavenly Father?

Get Me Home!
Usually my day goes by super fast....today it is not going by slow, but I just want to be at home wiht my doggies :)
Is it too Early?
All I can think about is decorating my house for Christmas. I know it isn't even Thanksgiving yet, but I REALLY want to pull out the Christmas decorations and get a tree! There is just something about having Christmas up in the house, it is SO fun and warm and enviting. But is it too early?
Luke and I are trying to do better at not spending so much money on food. So I have been making dinner and bringing leftovers to work for lunch. However, last night I wasn't home to make dinner, so no leftovers for lunch for me today! Oops!
I had a show last night at a co-workers house, it went really well. The ladies that were there were really fun and it was a great time. I am enjoying meeting new people!
Life is just not that exciting lately. I found out that Luke has about 1 1/2 weeks off between Christmas and New Years so I am going to take a couple days off so him and I can hang out.
That is all for now...have a good day friends!

RED IS BACK!
Friday night I got my hair done and oh yes, the red is back!
Saturday Luke and I went to Chateau St. Croix with our neighors Ben and Erica and 2 other couples. We had a great time! We stayed in a nice home on a lake that was about 3 feet down and the guy kept telling us this over and over during the tour. The owner who we were renting teh house from then stated that he goes through the trash to see how hard people party...he was strange. Anyways....we had a great time at the Chateau St. Croix, drank nummy wine, ate a lot of cheese, drank more wine, went to dinner and drank more wine, went back to the house and played a really fun game of WHAT IF, then we played about every game in the house and turned it into a drinking game! Much fun....you gotta try "Drunk Jenga" as we call it....whoever knocks over the Jenga stack first has to slam a beer! Very fun....I will be buying this for my neighbors for Christmas... :) The weekend was great. We are so lucky to have such great neighbors and we have a great time with them!
I have a REALLY busy week ahead of me as I have 4 lia sophia shows, tonight, Wed, Thurs, Friday and Saturday! Oh my! Hopefully I will get some more bookings as well!
That is all for now...hopefully I can show you some pics from the weekend soon...
Also- HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPH!!!!!

All in a nights work
Luke informed me tonight that he HATES the picture of us on this blog....so I guess I will be looking for a new one soon......or I could just not listen to what he says, oh wait! I think that already happens! :)
I went to Jazzercise tonight and almost had an accident. This may be too much info for ya'll , but most of you know I have the worst stomach in the world. Well I am working out, at the top of the curve and my stomach just starts aching (kurbis you can appreciate this). Well I think I was in the bathroom about 3 times before we left. Then of course the instructor (who was a sub)screwed up on a move and says out loud, " OH sorry, I was watching Ali run out of the room!" How humiliating! UH, I was so mad. Then she says to us, "You guys all seem tired and you are making really funny faces!" Well NO SHIT! We are working our ASS OFF exercising, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT!!!!! So needless to say Erica and I were ready to go when we left 10 mins. early cuz I just couldn't handle having such a horrible stomach ache. So much for eating a cup of that Activia Yogurt every morning....waste of money!

A WORK OF ART
It's done! Finally after over 6 months I sat down with a friend of mine and worked on and finished my scrapbook for Brian Lucas. It is beautiful and I enjoyed making it. It is so weird that I even went through something like that. I look at the pictures of my son and think of strange it is what God allows us to go through in our lives.
I am thankful for what I went through, it has shaped me and is shaping me to who I am. My scrapbook of Brian Lucas, a work of art.

Not that you want to hear bad stuff, but I am kinda down in the dumps. My family is going through some difficult times.
My Grandpa, my dad's dad. Well he has Alzheimer's and it is getting pretty bad. My dad told me that I needed to go over there this week before he doesn't recognize me anymore. It is so weird to think that my Grandpa who has known me my whole life may not be able to call me by name when I see him. That makes me sad. Also, it is hard on my parents. If they aren't taking care of my grandpa, they are taking care of my Papa. I am sure it gets to be waring on them.
My sister is struggling. If you think of it, pray for her. She is confused w/ life, well that is my take on it. Sometimes I am afraid that she is afraid of growing up. She loves to have fun and live in the moment, but when you are 22 years old, have graduated from college you tend to get confused as to what you really want to do w/ your life. I was there. I didn't find a job I really feel fits me until this job I am at now, it has taken me 3 years to get here. Look at my husband Luke, he finally is at a job that he loves after being in banking for almost 8 years!
So friends, if you could just pray for Sari that would be great. Last night I talked to her on the phone and just cried. I love my sister SO much and hate that she is hurting, sad and confused. I can talk to her and tell her what I think, but she has to make her own decisions and live with them. I have realized that life is SO short and that we need to appreciate the people we have around us that love us and lean on them during difficult times.

As I drove home last night from Isanti in the dark I was so nervous that a deer was going to come shooting out at me. Everyone kept telling me that it was really dark on the road and that there were a lot of deer on it. I realized as I got in my car that my cell phone was basically dead. All I could think about was, what if a deear hits me and I don't have a cell phone. Then I would be stranded with out a phone on some back road that was dark! Well thankfully I drove slow home and didn't get hit by a deer!
This weekend actually ended up to be pretty slow. It will be nice not to have too much to do. Well sorry my blogs have been pretty boring lately. I guess I don't have much going on other than work and well, work. So that is all for now!

Exhausted
Exhausted...........that is the word of the day. I am so tired today. I barely could keep my eyes open as I was driving to work. I had to keep shaking my head back and forth. I am so tired I feel like I could put my head down on my desk and never wake up.
Maybe it is because I have such a busy week, and I know it is a busy week so it just makes me tired.
I met w/ my counselor yesterday. It was really good. I still am dealing with stuff. I have realized that grief is not defined and that it is like a roller coaster. I started at the bottom, was up high for a while and have gone back down, but hopefully the ride will take me up again soon.

The Perfect Weekend
I had the perfect weekend.
Scrapbooking with neighbors Friday night. Family over Saturday. My best friend sleeping over Saturday night, us going to see Hairspray, eating popcorn, watching people make-out in the back of the movie theater, waking up Sunday to do absolutely nothing except for stay in our PJ's until almost 2pm and then go get Chipotle, then come back to put on out PJ's and fall asleep watching a movie.
My husband was a part of the weekend, but not very much as he golfed on Saturday and Sunday. His golfing is over for the season, it is getting too cold.
Pray for my grandpa, my dad's dad. He has Alzheimer's and is not doing too well.
I hope everyone has a great week.......mine is going to be a busy one.

UPDATES
So after about 1 month off from Jazzercise, I started feeling guilty and like a load, so I went to Jazzercise tonight. I love the feeling of sweat just dripping off you! Ok, so it isn't fun getting to that point and I am going to be hurting like CRAZY tomorrow, but my goal is 2 times a week.
Pray that my husband starts working out- for health reasons. He has a desire to work out, but it is hard to start and keep going.
This week has been difficult after what transpired last weekend with a friend not being understanding. Saturday is 6 months and I will be at home by myself this weekend (luke is going golfing), so that makes me a little nervous.
I have my first lia sophia jewelry party on Sunday afternoon, thanks to my great friend Ana! (Christina, if you aren't doing anything you should come!)
I am still cooking new recipes. I made a Rachel Ray recipe the other night, a Taco Stoup, in between a soup and a stew, it was really nummy!
I still want to get a tattoo of a sunflower, about the size of a quarter but I decided I am getting it on my right side, like by my bikini line.
My job is still going great. I work with an amazing woman who I just love!
My dogs are good. I am sure they will be sleeping in my bed with me all weekend while Luke is gone. :)
I am in love with a new show, Private Practice....I think it is better than Greys!
I am going to a synagogue on Saturday w/ my sister and Papa. I can't wait...it will be a really neat experience.
I am on the 4th book of Harry Potter. Harry is my new best friend, though Luke gets mad sometimes that I spend too much time with him!!
I am sad that this weekend is 6 months of losing little Brian Lucas. But, I have been very thankful lately for the time that Luke and I have together! I love my husband.
OK - so this is a boring blog....sorry...hopefully I will have some stories after the weekend!

Jewelry In
Hey friends....any of you that ordered Jewelry from my lia sophia party...I have your jewelry. Talk to me about how I can get it to you!
Thanks!
Thanks!
I had an interesting weekend. It started out on Friday with a friend of mine becoming very upset with me for not attending her baby shower the next day.
For all of you out there....I want you to know, if I don't go to something, please do not take it personally. I am so excited for all of my friends who are starting their families and having babies.
I feel that I have come along way in just under 6 months (it will be 6 months next Sat). However, there are still things that make me SO sad and I still cry and have a hard time.
Baby showers are difficult for me. Maybe it is because I was pregnant and never got the chance to have a baby shower and celebrate my baby. But please know that I am not trying to be rude or selfish or mistreat you as a friend. I am still struggling. Nothing can ever fill the place in my heart for my son Brian Lucas. He will always be my first child and I will go on to telling his sisters or brothers that they had a baby brother that never lived on this earth. But friends....know that in my heart I am so excited and happy for you who have babies and are staring your families. I am thankful now that God has allowed Luke and I more time with each other. What we have gone through has only made us stronger and I am thankful that we haven't jumped back into trying to start a family. I am still healing, so friends, please understand.

Hello Friends!
I wanted to let you know that I am taking on a new adventure of selling LIA SOPHIA jewelry. I am very excited about this.
After Luke and I lost the baby we both were obviously very sad, but now feel like we were given this time, without children, for a reason and that we need to enjoy it to the fullest. There are a couple vacations we would like to go on and site seeing we would like to do. So I decided after hosting a LIA SOPHIA jewelry party (where I obtained $300 in FREE JEWELRY )that I wanted to sell it to get some extra cash for those trips we want to take. (Which are a trip to Sonoma and New York!)
I have never seen a company that offers a Hostess SO MUCH! I am doing the annoying thing of letting all my friends know that I am selling and asking for them to PLEASE BOOK A SHOW!
I know that may sound like a lot, but it is SO easy. I help with everything! All you have to do is pick a date, get me your list of people, easy snacks for when you have your show, get FREE JEWELRY and I do the rest!
Hostesses receive:
- $50 in FREE JEWELRY for booking the month of OCTOBER
-20% of your show sales in FREE JEWELRY
-2 Half Priced items at your Show (which count towards your show sales)
-4 Bonus priced items ($15 - or price as marked)

DON'T GET THE FLU SHOT
So for the last 3 years I have got the flu shot. Well yesterday I was at the allergist and like usual, I got my flu shot. Because of my asthma, I am at higher risk for getting the flu really bad or something so that is why they recommend it for me. So I got stabbed w/ a huge needle that injected a dead virus in me of the flu.
I got home last night and wasn't feeling the best, but didn't think anything out of it. Then I started to feel kinda sick to my stomach. Luke got home from his grandma's and I barely could keep my eyes open. Next thing I knew I was racing to the bathroom. I barely got to the toilet in time, I threw up a couple times, then got back in bed and had to go right back to the bathroom. I slept in our front bedroom because I didn't want to keep Luke up or get him sick. I woke up this morning at about 6am to throw up more!!!!!! I hate being sick. So my conclusion is that I got sick from my Flu shot. This will be the last time I ever get a flu shot!!!!!
I went back to sleep and woke up around 10:30AM. I decided I felt good enough to go to work, so here I am at work, feeling ok, but I can't wait to get home and relax.....Long story short...I got sick from my flu shot!

Poor Roxie
My parents dog Roxie is having seizures and something is wrong with her. Her balance is off and she can't really use her back legs. Roxie is only 3 years old, poor baby. She is a really funny dog. She has this spunky personality and is always coming to you with a smile, seriously she smiles. Well my mom says it is really sad because she is just not the same dog and she knows that something is wrong. They were at the Emergency Vet last night until 2am and they couldn't figure out what is a matter with her. I guess she is going to have to go the the UofM to get some testing done. Poor Roxie. I feel bad for my mom because Roxie is her little baby girl. You people who have dogs understand the sadness. You just feel so bad and there is nothing really that you can do :(

DAMN VACUUM
So as my husband played 36 holes of golf on Saturday, I spent my day cleaning the house. About 2 months ago our vacuum that we got when we were married all of a sudden died. So Luke decided that he didn't want to spend a lot of money on a new vacuum. He went to Target and bought a cheap vacuum that was on sale for under $100, a Bissel. This vacuum worked great! It was really nice and made the carpets look great! Well on Saturday as I was vacuuming our bedroom floor I noticed the carpet wasn't looking any different. The belt broke on the vacuum and the bottom part wasn't spinning. Piece of crap! I was so mad and called Luke in outrage on the golf course screaming about how the hell was I supposed to clean our house when our DAMN VACUUM didn't even work! Needless to say I was a little upset! So on my way home today I will be stopping at Lowe's to buy a new vacuum. I have heard many suggestions on what kinds, Hoover, Kirby, Dyson. I am thinking that we for sure need to get a vacuum now w/ a bag, because our luck with the bag less vacuum's hasn't been very great.
Any suggestions on a damn vacuum?

Our Best Friends Moving to Sudan.
I talk alot about Brian and Bethany Kurbis. They are our dear friends and they are moving to Sudan...Luke and I are so excited for this new life journey for them, but so sad to see them leave. I thought many of you would like to hear what they will be doing, so below is a letter they wrote to their family and friends.
Hello, Friends and Family!Oh where to begin…As many of you know we have been pursuing moving overseas for some time, and we are excited to let you all know that it is finally happening! Two weeks ago Brian accepted a permanent position with the American Refugee Committee in the city of Yei , South Sudan . Brian will be the Area Coordinator which is a position with a full mix of HR, Logistics, Finance, government/donor liaising and Program Coordination. It is a HUGE step up for him and the fulfillment of his years of work.
Brian has already been working for the headquarters of the American Refugee Committee since March of 2006 and has traveled to Kosovo and Sudan twice each with the organization. While in Sudan , Brian was able to meet the people on the ground and to gain a strong understanding of the situation and the needs that ARC’s South Sudan program has. Upon his return to the US in May we had a feeling that it would not be long until something more permanent came around for us to move into. At the start of August, the Area Coordinator job opened up and Brian applied and interviewed for the position. We actually received a phone call with the job offer while in the baggage claim area in the Las Vegas airport on a vacation with our friends Luke and Ali. We just kind of looked at each other and laughed and enjoyed the weekend together with our friends ( Bethany got to see Celine Dion on the stage…”amazing”). On the flight back to Minneapolis , we finally sat down and really talked it through. A major complication that we faced was that due to the security level and UN regulations, Bethany cannot move to Sudan until she has a volunteer/paid position. This would mean 1-6 months apart if Brian accepted the role. As we weighed the pro’s and con’s It became evident to both of us that this really is the next step for us and that the risk of a long time apart is really worth it…So, Brian accepted the position the next day. He is leaving for Sudan October 4th. Bethany will stay in Minneapolis , train her replacement at Bordertown and begin her hunt for a volunteer role in South Sudan . That’s the nutshell. We would ideally have a chance to sit down with each of you individually, but it is obvious that time just won’t allow it (sorry Omaha !). So we are having a little bon voyage party at Bethany ’s parent’s house in Sunday, September 30th. We will be barbequing, hanging out, and trying to explain all that our future holds between 12 – 5 that day. That will be the last week Brian is in town, so if you have time, please stop by. If you are interested, please drop an email our way and we will get you the directions you need.We will have a blog page set up shortly that details what we'll be doing and what our life is like!
We love you all and we hope to see you on September 30th!
Love and Peace,Brian and Bethany
p.s. Please send this to other friends and family. We don't have all of the e-mail addresses! Thanks!

Duluth
We had a fabulous weekend in Duluth. It was fun to have both dogs up there and watch all 4 of them play(including my parents dogs). On Saturday we woke up and watched my dad come in. It was SO cold on Sat. morning in Duluth that they were pulling people off the course for hypothermia. Thankfully my dad was fine.
We spent the afternoon at Park Point letting the dogs run and then Luke and I headed to Allen and Natalie's house. We got to play w/ Nora for a couple of hours. She is SO freakin' cute. She would just look at Luke and smile. Probably because he was wearing a hat, but we can pretend it was because she really liked him :) It was so fun to play with a baby together. It makes me want a baby when I talk to Natalie or see Nora. But I am OK right now just enjoying my friends babies! Hopefully Natalie will send me pictures sooner than later (hint hint) and then I can put the pics of Luke and I w/ Nora on here.
Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I am reading Harry Potter still. I am on book 2. It is really good.
This weekend we are heading up to Duluth for the Rollerblade Marathon. My dad is rollerblading. It is a weekend that I look forward to every year. I am excited.
I was offered a sales position at THE RIGHT STAFF yesterday....hmmmm...interesting. I have to call them today and let them know that at this point, I am happy where I am at and just can't have the pressure of sales. I like my job WAY too much to leave. I am so thankful for where I am working, the people, the environment and I really enjoy what I do.
Hopefully I will have some more exciting stuff to write once we are back from Duluth....until then.

17/25...I am a good shot!
On Saturday my sister and I went with my dad trap shooting. I must say, it was SO FUN!!!! I love shooting a gun! I didn't do so well the first round, but the second round we shot, I shot 17/25! It was so exciting. I can't wait to go hunting with my dad this fall. He is even going to buy me my very own gun! YEA!!!! Many of you may think this is quite odd coming from me, but I grew up hunting my whole life w/ my dad and have always loved cleaning birds and being outside hunting. I can't wait to go pheasant hunting w/ my dad!
Well I am excited and sad at the same time to announce that my dears friends, Brian and Bethany Kurbis are moving to Africa. Yes, they are. Brian leaves the first week of October and they are committing to a year over there. Bethany will follow after she is signed up with a volunteer organization. Please pray for this transition for the two of them to go smooth and that Bethany will get signed up soon w/ an organization so she can join her husband. I am so so sad to see our great friends leave for a while but so excited that they will be able to do this together!

Have you missed me?
Well....where do I start? It has been so long since I have blogged. I am sorry to all my fans out there, I will try and do better.
We were in Las Vegas over Labor Day weekend and had a FABULOUS time with our friends. The highlight of my trip was seeing Celine Dion! She was seriously AMAZING!!!! I was so sad when it ended, I didn't want to leave my seat, I could have watched her and listened to her sing all night long!!
We did a lot such as....such as....sorry every time I think of that phrase, "such as" I am going to think of that stupid girl on miss teen USA. ANYWAYS our weekend consisted of many taxi rides with drivers who practically drove us off the road, Bethany as my lucky charm as I played penny slots, Luke and Kurbis playing a lot of blackjack, Bethany losing on slots and blackjack, taking tons of pictures, myself winning on blackjack because Bethany is my lucky charm, seeing Celine Dion and being amazed, so many fake boobs that were gross, a guy walking up to a picture of a half naked girl and touching it and kissing it, Bethany carying a pharmacy in her purse because she had a bad cold, myself winning $60 on a penny machine, Bethany losing money, Walking through every Casino/Hotel possible, taking tons of pictures, the Bellagio dancing water, seeing a girl in lingerie that was see through walking out of a Casino (Definitely a hooker!), Bethany and I at an oxygen booth, (weird!), taking tons of pictures, eating great food, hearing about Luke and Brian's $150 meal they got for free and staying up so late gambling w/ my husband and losing cuz my lucky charm wasn't with me!
So in a nut shell, it was a fantabulous weekend :)
I will post some pics! Thanks for the amazing memories Kurbis and Bethany!

Work is going well so far.
Yesterday I picked up my dress for Ana's wedding and it still was too big! AHHHHH!! I freaked out last night. But thankfully I dropped it off this morning and I am just taking it in a ton. I would rather have it tight than too loose and letting the girls fall out! So last night I called Steph in a panic cuz my dress didn't' fit. Oh well, what can ya do!
I spoke to a friend of mine yesterday that is pregnant and due in Nov. that Luke and I were going to wait to try to have kids. She asked , " well why? " It was very weird to actually verbalize to someone the reasons why. But after I told her I really realized that I am ok that we are waiting and there are things I want to do.
Last night I just needed to chill since my new wake-up time is 5:30am every morning, so I watched a movie and just laid in bed. It was good, but I started thinking about what this week would have been like for me if I was pregnant still. I got a little teary eyed knowing that the due date for Brian Lucas is on Friday. It is good that I have a busy weekend, I am thankful for that.

I started my new job today! It was a good first day. I think that I am really going to like what I will be doing. Today was mostly observing and taking notes, which is usually what the training period invloves. I really want to try and learn all that I can and do a great job for my boss.
Luke is at the Twins game tonight, 4th row up, while I am at home tending to the house like a good little wife. Actually I am going to clean the house tonight since the rest of the week is busy, then it is Ana's wedding and then the next week it is off to VEGAS BABY!
I seriously am so excited to go to Vegas. The trip couldn't be planned at a more perfect time because I am sure my brain will need a break after 2 weeks of being trained in.
Also, I am really looking forward to Ana's wedding. She asked me to talk/give a toast, so I am knida nervous about that. I know what I want to say, so I think I will write it out incase I get teary eyed.
Right now the rain has stopped and I was able to walk the dogs, they were going crazy being cooped up in the house!
Ok - enough of my randomness - later!

Bring on #2
I forgot to tell everyone that I finished Harry Potter. I really liked the 1st book, so I am going to read the 2nd. I figure I will keep reading them until I don't like them anymore, so we will see how far I get.
My Babies
We had dinner at my parents last night....mmmmmm....steak dinner. It was great to be with my family and laugh and talk about the movie Superbad. The movie explains itself. The first 5 minutes into it are SO funny. I looked over at Luke and said, "Are you kidding me? " I was astonished at the amount of F-bombs and P-bombs that were dropped!
After we got home last night I realized that we had NO dog food left. I went up to Coborns to get dog food, coffee and cream, (my morning essentials). As I was checking out, I realized I had a whole plastic bag full and a huge bag of dog food, the clerk said to me, " Do you want a cart?" I replied, " NO, I should be ok. God gave us hips for a reason!" as I hoisted the bag of dog food up on my hip. Then she said, " Yeah, people usually use them for babies, but I guess you are too!" I thought, yup, I sure am. My doggies are my babies! I walked away looking funny carrying my 20 lb. dog food bag on my hip with another bag plum full in my other hand and a funny smirk on my face knowing that I was going home to my babies.

Rain Rain GO AWAY!
So we woke up this morning, looked out the window and Luke asked, " what in the heck are we going to do today?"
The bad thing about rain is the weather, the good thing is that you usually stay home, which means just the 2 of us. It has been such a nice weekend, just me and my hubby.
Saturday morning we went out to breakfast, came home and listened to music while I finished reading Harry Potter. (loved it! Can't wait to read the 2nd book) Saw a movie, took a nap, had dinner at his parents, and then my favorite part! We went to a restaurant in Maple Grove just for desert and a glass of wine. It was so romantical! :) So even though this rain is annoying, my weekend has been relaxing thus far and wonderful to spend time just Luke and I!

FYI
Luke and I decided that we are going to wait a while until we start trying to have a baby again. This is a hard decision for me, but I feel it best for now. I keep thinking that we are so young and I really want to enjoy the time I have with just Luke. So for the time being our family will be the 4 of us, Luke, Me, Sadie and Hogan. I am happy with that. Just thought some of you would want to know....but I guess it is going to be hard, because most of my friends have babies now, or will soon. Again I go back to what I feel God is trying to teach me through this, being content w/ where life is at, being ok with what I have in front of me right now. Pray that I am content with life.
It's a great day
It's a great day to be alive
I know the sun's still shining when I shut my eyes
There are some, hard times in the neighborhood
But why can't every day be just this good
It's a great day to be alive
This is a county song that I love....great lyrics...

What to do with my hair?
So I am getting my hair done on Friday and I don't know if I should get it cut or not. It is starting to get long, but I do like it long. I mean, should I cut it to my shoulders? Or let it keep growing? I am leaning towards just leaving it. Also, I am not sure if I should go light 1 more time for the rest of the summer, or just go dark for fall, like red dark...any suggestions?
I also realized that I have had my hair many different colors! It is fun that I can change my hair. It isn't very fun on the wallet, but oh well. It is the one thing I do that really costs a lot of money. Well if you have a suggestion about my hair, please let me know! :)

Harry Potter....Here I come
Luke and I had a wonderful weekend. Friday we were bowling, Saturday a wedding and Sunday a BBQ at our house. It was great to see friends all weekend long!
On Sunday Kurbis brought me the 1st Harry Potter book. I am on chapter 2 at the moment and can't wait to go home, go to Jazzercise, make dinner, eat dinner , do the dishes and then read!!!
Ok, so I have a couple things to do before I read.
I have heard mixed reviews on this Harry Potter craziness. I am forsure going to read the first book and we will see where I go from there. So as I read I will let you know what I think of the book. So far, on chapter 2 it is good...we'll see! As Luke would say, "I will be the judge of that!"

Last night I dropped the dogs off at the place where we board them. I was so sad on my way home, I am going to miss my puppies this weekend. It was really weird last night not having the dogs running around the house.
Luke mowed the lawn and then we started staining the deck. I will finish tomorrow before we have people over on Sunday. We have a super busy weekend , but it will be fun.
I really don't have anything exciting to write about. Work is going good. Ummmmmm, yeah, that is it. Until something exciting happens! :)

Lake Minnetonka Virgin
Last night Luke and I were out on Lake Minnetonka with his boss. In all my 25 years of living in MN I have never actually been out on Lake Minnetonka! It was beautiful and so fun to see all the ginormous houses. THe house that they keep their boat at is on the market right now for 7 Million Dollars!!!!! This house was freakin' insane! It had a pool inside w/ a water slide and was something outrageous like 12,000 sq. ft! What the hell would you do with all of that room? I mean, that is just TOO big.
We went to Lord Fletchers as well and I couldn't believe how busy it was for a Tuesday night. There wasn't one table open! All in all it was a fun night, but Luke and I didn't get home till midnight! Ouch.....I am tired today.

The Best Therapy
Since I got up this morning I have been cleaning my house. I realized today that cleaning is the best therapy! I seriously am getting so much done around the house and it just calms me....I know, I am a clean freak... I get it from my mom...Anyways...that was my random thought! So long.
Life Lessons
This past week has been very interesting for me. I can't get a phrase out of my head that a good friend always tells me, "What is God trying to teach you through this?" All that I can keep coming up with is, rely on Him more. It is such a hard thing to do, especially after everything. So please pray that I go to God for the comfort, care and love that I need during difficult times. I am always learning lifes new lessons that mold, shape me and make me who I am.

Soothe the Pain....with clothes!
Ok, I was feeling bad for myself, so I went to Plato's Closet. I got a dress, a skirt, a tank, and 2 really cute bags for $34!
Also, I did set up a time to meet w/ a counselor on Tuesday at 5pm.
Nichole, thank you for your words of advice.....oh I miss my baby Gus! :)

Yesterday...
Yesterday around noon I headed to my dad’s office to get a treatment, he is a Chiropractor and I have been getting work done on my right arm because I type too much and am now getting tendonitis. Lovely…..
Anyways….many of you may not know this, but Little Brian Lucas is buried at Maple Knoll Cemetery in Maple Grove. Luke and I were given a plot from Tammy Roelofs. Tammy’s husband Dan died about 5 years ago or so….and she gave us a plot right next to Dan. There is much more behind it than that. Dan was my first youth pastor, someone very close to our family and so is Tammy. Since Tammy has re-married and moved to Washington, so I wasn’t sure when I would see her again.
Tammy was at my dad’s office yesterday. When I saw her she gave me the biggest hug and looked into my eyes and said, “I am so sorry.” I told her thank you, for giving us the plot and then the tears came. She said, “It will come and go, and hit you at different times and that is okay.” It was so good to see her and yet so hard. Yesterday, needless too say was very difficult after that. I went back to work, but was too emotional, so I left and met my mom at Caribou for some good mother-daughter bonding time.
My mom and I discussed me seeing a counselor. She said that I have been doing very well, but it may be good to have someone to talk to. I also think I just need help in knowing how to deal with what I am feeling. So a friend of my parents is a therapist and I hopefully will be meeting with her soon.
I ended up heading back to work yesterday afternoon to find the office a bit warm. We then realized that the air had stopped working and it got to 83 degrees in our office! I couldn’t take it! I thought I was going to lose it….thankfully the last few hours went by pretty quick and at 5pm I was out the door and in my car blasting the cold air straight at my face!
Yesterday was interesting, I still have so many emotions…and it is still so hard, thankfully I have amazing support around me.

Melt Down 101
I think that I could teach a class on having a melt down. This past weekend was quite exhausting for me, mentally that is.
The first of everything since little Brian has been extremely difficult. Friday night we were at a wedding and I was very emotional, well first weddings always make me cry, but for some reason I had anxiety being there. The wedding was beautiful, I got to see old friends, dance, get hit on by and Indian man and eat mashed potatoes out of a Martini glass. So all in all it was a good night.
Then Saturday I had coffee with a dear friend of mine from college who I haven’t seen in over 2 years! It was so good to connect with Robbie and tell him about what has happened in my life. I wish that we saw him more!
Saturday for dinner Luke and I met some college friends at PF Chang’s. It was so good to see everyone, but it also made me sad. Sad that we don’t get to hang out like we used to. Strange to see how life has changed and our lives have brought us in different directions.
Then the meltdown. Sunday morning I woke up and just felt sad. I know it is ok, but I am sick of it. Sick of feeling sad, feeling angry and like I can’t handle life!
I just want it all to go away, but it won’t. I thankfully have a friend who is so amazing and knows exactly what to say. She thinks that she doesn't have all the right words, but she does. She is someone who can tell me something even if I don’t want to hear and I can just cry to her and tell her I hate life and hate everyone and everything and I can feel her hugs through the phone.
I was freaking out yesterday, crying all afternoon. Then my husband came home and I let him have it. I seriously love him more than anyone in this world and I need him so much that I push him away. I know it is the way I am dealing with my grief, but it sucks. I try to not react and deal with the grief how I do, but sometimes I can’t control it. I hate that I need my husband so much that I don’t know how to communicate that to him with out yelling and crying. Thankfully my husband is an AMAZING man and is so patient with me and won’t let me do crazy things. What I mean, is that I wanted to leave yesterday. I wanted to take my dogs w/ me and go to the cabin for the night and call in to work today. I didn’t care about anything. But he didn’t let me go. Oh I tried. I tried leaving the house, but he parked his car behind mine and sat in it. I was stuck….I know you all are thinking that I really am crazy….but this is me and my life as it is….and this is why it is hard and sucks sometimes…
After a 2 ½ hour nap, I woke up and made dinner for Luke and I. I was finally calm, I still felt so sad, but my emotions had calmed down. We ate dinner in pretty much silence, and then watched some TV and ate root beer floats.
Yesterday was hard. Today hopefully will be easier….but I guess this is how it is still, good and bad, easy and hard. Oy Vay!

The Best Neighbors Ever!
I have the best neighbors ever!
Luke and I are really lucky to have such nice neighbors that live next door. Erica and Ben always offer to let me dogs out when we are going to be home late, feed my dogs, let them play with their beagle Sammy and even walk them! They are the best...everyone should be jealous! :)
Tonight we are gone to a wedding of one of our friends from college. It should be fun! I am most excited about my new outfit I bought. I found a really cute green dress at Marshalls for $16.99! I will post pics. this weekend.
Last night a college friend came into town. Luke and I have not seen Robbie since we were in Montana for his wedding over 2 years ago! It has been a while. It was so good to see him last night. I am looking forward to spending more time with him tonight at the wedding.
Until next time....

YOU CAN DO IT!
Thank you, thank you very much....no applause necessary, come on now.
I made the BEST dinner last night. I actually took time to go to the grocery store and buy ingredients for a recipe and make it. I made, Creamy chicken w/ broccoli and bow tie pasta! It was to die for! Chicken w/ a creamy red sauce mmmmm.....
I must give some credit to Jessie for giving me this fabulous recipe. I figured that it is about time for my husband to see my true talent in cooking :) But again, thanks to Jessie I accomplished this fabulous meal by thinking about her encouraging words, YOU CAN DO IT! (think of those words spoken the way the guy did on Waterboy)

Like a child
Tonight I was at my work party. It was really fun, I haven't been bowling in so long. I even broke 100! I was very proud of myself.
My boss had his little girl there. She just turned 3 years old and is the cutes little thing. She got to use one of those things that you set the ball on and push it and it rolls down into the lane. Well every time anyone would go up to throw the ball she would scream and yell YEA and clap her hands. It was so freakin' cute! The best part of all of it was watching Luke and the way he looked at this adorable little girl. He looked at her with such a great smile on his face, such a adoring look, it made me happy and sad all at the same time. I don't' know when our time will be, but I can't wait for the day when Luke gets to look at our child and have the biggest smile on his face knowing that the beautiful, healthy, alive child is his.
Oh, to have the life of a child again...getting excited at seeing people bowl...wouldn't that be nice!

Singing Bee
Has anyone seen the new show Singing Bee? Luke and I watched it last week. It is awesome!!!! Right now I am listening to Queen, Bicycle Race, " I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike...." What a great song!!!!
Anyways the show, Singing Bee, you have to finish the song, they play a little and you have to sing the rest of the line in the song, singing the right words...it is awesome. I am convinced that my husband should be on the show. Every time a song comes on the radio he is singing and he knows who is singing it and what the song is. He even knows all the ghetto songs! I think he secretly listens to the ghetto music when he is in the car by himself. I guess Luke can just be my little singing bee! :)
On a more serious note....I am doing pretty good. It is good to get away on the weekend, I love being at my cabin. There is something about it that is comforting. I do enjoy just being with my family.
I have been going back in forth with feeling that I want a baby one day, and the next I don't. What I mean is that one day I want to start trying to get pregnant, and the next I am don't. So from this I have concluded that I need to not try until I know one way or the next! I have been telling Bethany that I just really feel like I need to learn to be content where life is at right now....it is really hard.
I would like to welcome Bethany to reading my blog! She has never read it before, and tonight I emailed her the link. So, WELCOME BETHANY!!!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!!

Finally...Pictures of THE DECK
So I finally have pictures to put on of my deck thanks to my friend Jessie. I am sad to say I never have a camera anymore because my husband thinks it is fun to take the camera to work and use it to take pictures of houses he is working on....he is SO wrong.
The camera should be with the woman! He never takes good pictures anyways! For example last night I was actually excited to take pictures of flowers in my garden, so I did. Next thing I know he deletes the pictures because he says he needs space for pics. he has to take at work. I am thinking I may just go out an by myself a new camera? Don't you think?
So here are the deck pictures. I must say that I did help in building the deck! I used some kind of saw and cut the balusters so they would be angled at the end, thank you very much!

Not fun....
Last night was just horrible! I was so upset about yesterday and totally took it out on my husband.
As I walked into the doctors office yesterday my heart started pounding. The ultrasound person took me into the room and introduced herself and said to me, " Have you ever had an ultrasound before?" She was the same person that did the ultrasound of little Brian, hello idiot! You were the one who told me my baby would die!!!!! That is what I wanted to say, but instead, I replied, "yes."
As I was lying there on the table all the memories were flooding back. She showed me that everything was ok. The worst part was she wanted to listen to the blood flow through my ovaries. It sounded kind of what it sounds like when you listen to your babies heart beat. It seriously was like a slap in the face.
Anyways so I struggled through the whole day at work yesterday and then exploded when Luke got home. I was so upset and didn't know how to communicate to him that I needed him. So instead I was mad at him and yelling and crying....it wasn't a very good night.
I realized that I really want a baby, but even if I was pregnant right now it would be hard because it wouldn't be little Brian Lucas. I work myself up into a tizzy! Then after I work myself up I realize how crazy I am!
Today is a new day and I am hoping it will be better....let's hope so.

Ultrasound
So I am really nervous because in about an hour and a half I have to get an ultrasound because I keep bleeding. Not something to fun to talk about, but I really would love to go to the ultrasound and here them say, " Oh my gosh! You are pregnant!" But I know that isn't going to happen, so I am already let down and sad. I have to go to this appt. to hear I am sure that there is nothing wrong with me and it is just my hormones and that I am not pregnant. The last time I had an ultrasound I found out that Little Brian would not live, maybe that is why I feel like screaming and crying again!
If you think of it pray for me. I will update again after I get back. My appt. is today at 11:15am.

T.G.I.F. (as my mom would say!)
Cleaning is something that I normally enjoy doing…however there is one household chore that I put off, washing my floors. As most people know we have wood floors throughout our main level except for the bedrooms, thus leaving a very large space of wood floors to clean. So last night I got fed up enough looking at my dirty floors and actually got down on my hands and knees and scrubbed/washed the floor! I must say I am proud of myself since it is my least favorite thing to do.
Last night Luke’s ear was bugging him so he had me put Hydrogen Peroxide in his ear. Supposedly this is something that can help clear an ear….well I decided to try this, something I had never done before. After lying down and feeling the cool liquid enter my ear, it started crackling, then I started to feel dizzy and more dizzy. The stuff totally shook me! I got up and let it drain out of my ear. I barely could walk straight. That shit messed up my equilibrium. So if you ever want the feeling of being drunk and not being able to walk straight, put a little Hydrogen Peroxide in your ear! Fun times! :)

I realize that every day at work I wish it was Friday. However, Thursday is always a good day because you know the next day is Friday.
I am SO sick of KS95. I can't get any other station in at my desk besides that. The funny thing is that they play all the songs that I Jazzercise to, so when I hear them I think about how to Jazz to the song :) I know, I am a dork. But really I need to just go and buy a digital radio so that I can get other stations in....annoying...
Have a good day friends.

Shedding the baby weight.
Ok - So I am going to brag for a minute. I am loosing the baby weight that I gained from Little Brian Lucas. But it hasn't been easy. I Jazzercise 2-3 times/week and only allow myslef 1 pop a day and 1 sweet thing a day. My favorite sweet for the day is a Root beer float!!!
Today I actually was able to fit into a dress that I bought my Sr. year of Highschool. Natalie and Steph, you two may remember it...it is the skirt I wore to the Dixie Chicks concert. Don't ask me how I remember that! Anyways...it is white w/ little blue flowers. Yea!!!! Remember that concert....that was fun...and it was funny cuz Aaron Benney came w/us. Remember when I was in love with him....that was funny!
So I still have about 8 lbs. or so to get back to where I was before I was pregnant. I must say Jazzercise helps A LOT!!!

Don't Jazz in the heat.
So tonight at Jazzercise I almost fainted because we didn't have any airconditioning and it was practically 100 degrees outside! Suggestion - DO NOT Jazzercise in the heat. I was jumping around doing something and I started to feel light headed, so I escorted myself out and went to the bathroom to emerge my face in COLD water. After I much felt better.
CHOCOLATE SHAKE!
I am supposed to be working right now...however my computer had a breakdown and decided it didn't like me anymore. So I am sitting here on a different computer in my office writing about life.
The downfall to having a Wii is the fact that your shoulder hurts...my shoulder hurts like crazy! Not fun. But the Wii is SO worth it.
I had lunch with my Mom, Dad and Papa today for lunch. We ate at Potbelly. It was good I got my favorite, Chocolate Shake. Don't you hate it when you order the Chocolate shake and they yell it down to the person at the other end of the counter, "CHOCOLATE SHAKE!"
It's like they are saying, "Here is the person who wants to get FAT and eat a CHOCOLATE SHAKE! Hello everyone look at her!" Ok, so maybe it isn't that extrememe but it does kinda feel like that.

Come play "Wii"th us!
Luke and I are now the new proud owners of a Nintendo Wii. For those of you who have not experienced the power of the Wii, you are missing out! So come on over to the Peterson household and enjoy a good game of Wii Tennis or the cow one, where you race cows and hit the scarecrows! It is pretty irresistable. I must say, I never thought we would have one, but am glad we do!
This past weekend was fun. I saw Nora Lepien and Addie Sorbel on Friday night. They are my favorite little babies! That was fun, but at the same time sad. I was supposed to be huge and pregnant when I saw those 2 together for the first time. I decided I will just shoot for my next kid to be around the same age as Nat and Steph's 2nd....so ladies....plan on about a year to a year and a half! ;)
After seeing the babies, and their wonderful parents, I headed home to tend to my sickly husband. He was not feeling well on Friday night. I am such a good wife, I went to the grocery store at 11:30pm to get him chicken noodle soup!
Saturday Luke and I drove to some property on the west side of Monticello that I fell in love with. It had 10 acres and was beautiful! Anyone want to lend me about $190,000.00? Come on, its my dream , living on a farm!
Sunday we did yard work, getting ready for our deck to go in next weekend. Then we went to my parents for dinner. They just got back from 2 weeks in Italy and had a wonderful time.
Again....if anyone wants to join us for a fun night of Wii we are more than happy to have you over! :)

Spaghetti for Two
I do have to say that Spaghetti is some great comfort food. It is that dinner that tastes great when you have NOTHING else to eat in the house. The difficult part of making spaghetti is when you are making it for 2 people. Do you use a whole can of sauce? How many noodles do you put in? I always seem to have leftovers, Not last night. I had the perfect amount of spaghetti noodles...for once! Does anyone else find these same problems?
Thankfully, we are going to some friends from college house tonight in Bloomington, so I don't have to make dinner. Hooray! :)

For some reason today is a sad morning for me...not sure why. I went to drop off my dogs at the dog kennel for the weekend and I cried the whole way home. I miss my mom and dad. I usually talk to them every day and it really is weird not to, then I thought about some day when they won't be here and I won't be able to look forward to them coming home...then I got really sad.
Well I need to go!

Time to Brag!
Well...yesterday my husband shot a hole in 1 at Monitcello CC. It isn't every day that you can say that! Many people go their whole life without getting a hole in 1. Luke said he can now die a happy man. So I am bragging that my husband is a great golfer and got a hole in 1! Way to go Luke!
I haven't blogged this week and have been meaning to.
Monday night I went to my Jazzercise movement screening and PASSED!! I am on my way to becoming a Jazzercise instructor. I am really excited. I have always wanted to do something like this, and now I am !
Tuesday was Luke and I, our 3rd anniversary. He surprised me and took me to lunch at Benihana's. It was sooo good.
Yesterday I got home and there was a box on my door step, it was from Enfamil, it was a diaper/bottle bag, really nice and it had formula in it, diapers, ice pack things and info. on enfamil. So I decided I am going to keep the bag because it will be useful some day and give the other stuff to Steph or one of my many friends that can use it. But it was kinda sad to get the stuff because it was just a reminder of what I don't have coming in August. Also, I found out that my neighbor 2 houses down is pregnant, due Aug. 11th, so that means our babies would have been the same age...oh well...my time will come again.
I am reading a Nora Roberts book right now....it is so good! It is so nice to read before you go to bed. I really enjoy doing that. Also, I started a devotional called the Names of Jesus, or something like that...it is really good!
All in all it has been a busy week and a busier weekend to come. Oh, my parents are in Italy...they called me this morning at 6am, they are having a great time and they have got lost 2 times...they are so funny.
Well I hope everyone has a great weekend. I can't wait to be outside in the sun and by a pool!
