I have a cold

I have a cold :( Wa Waaaaaaaaa

For Luke's birthday we went out to our favorite mexican restaurant, Rancho Grande. We had a great dinner and each enjoyed a nice LARGE Margarita! I got Luke a nice shirt from Banana Republic and then tickets to the Wild game on Thursday night. I can't wait as the Wild are currently undefeated. We are taking are good friends with us to help celebrate, so ti should be a good time.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me. Thurs. night Wild game, Friday night Jazzercise and then Scrapbooking, Saturday neighborhood Halloween party and Sunday hopefully seeing some friends we haven't seen in a long time.

Wednesday, Oct. 15
At about 2pm or so I spoke to my doctor that day, I found out that I am having to go in for the next 3 weeks in a row to get my blood drawn and then every month for the next 6 months. On my way home from work on Wed. I was rearended on 169 north. I had neck pain immediately so I headed straight to my dads office. (My dad is a Chiropractor for those of you who don't know)

I thankfully gave myself enough room and didn't hit the car infront of me. I have little damage to my car, so that is good, but I do have a neck ache still today.

I was just emotionally and mentally exhausted on Wed. when I got home. I ate dinner, took my dogs on a nice long walk while I cried practically the whole way! (Good thing it was dark out so none of my neighbors could see me crying!) Then I crawled into bed to try and sleep. I have been having trouble falling asleep lately, but I think after the day I had, I was so exhausted I was practically out cold when my head hit the pillow.

Ok, so you are probably wondering what my doctor had to say. I really don't feel like sharing ALL the details, but the type of pregnancy I had, a baby cannot live, therefore the baby died. Now, because of the type of pregnancy they need to monitor a certain hormone to make sure it goes down to a negative level. Once it is negative they need to see the level there for at least 6 months before we can start trying again. This was a shock to me, because I was hoping we could start trying sooner than that. If everything happens right away, me being at a negative level now and then getting pregnant the first month we start trying, I will still probably be 28 by the time my next kid comes.

How do I feel about this you ask? Well, It is REALLY hard. Most all of our friends have kids already or are trying right now to have kids (well except Kurbis and Bethany, but they are heading back to Africa soon again). So where does that leave Luke and I? In our late 20's with no kid and 2 dogs........Don't get me wrong...I have a great life. I have a BEAUTIFUL home and a WONDERFUL family and a LOVING WONDERFUL husband. BUT........I feel like this just seperates us from people who are at a different place in life. We can't understand the parenting aspect yet, not getting any sleep because your kid wakes up every night, having to adjust to life with a kid and how that works, or even the exciting things that you get to do when you have a baby, like the 1st trip to the Apple Orchard, the first Thanksgiving, 1st pictures. So......that is where we are for now I guess and need ot accept it.

After an evening with family last night (Sunday the 19th) we hung out with my sister and Ryan. I am SO thankful for them. We are able to have such a great time with them, but be serious as well. Who would have thunk back in the day when I couldn't stand my sister that now she would be my best friend!

Back to Jazz

Tonight I am venturing back to Jazzercise.

It is such a great total body workout and I drip with sweat every time.

It will be nice to start moving my body again and get back in shape.

It was a pretty good weekend, low key, I spent the day on Saturday with my mom which was nice. Then Luke and I went on a date Saturday night. We went downtown to Origami and had Sushi..........mmmmmmmmmmmmmm................We LOVE Sushi!

That is all for now.

Blessings

I am reminded over and over again about how lucky Luke and I are. We are so blessed to have amazing family and friends. The amount of support that we have received again with this loss of our 2nd baby is overwhelming. So THANK YOU to all of our family and friends for your love and support.

Now.....on to how life is really going. Luke is doing well. He is hurt and sad and I am sure mad at the loss of our 2nd baby, but he is doing well. He closed a big deal at work the other day and is of course out on the golf course as I write this.

Myself, well I am making it. Wednesday was a very hard day for me. I wanted to hibernate in my bed under the covers. My mom came over to help get me up and motivated. My first full day back at work was Thursday. I have an Amazing work family who loves and supports me and have really been a sense of comfort, though it was hard to get back to real life by going to work.

Logically I know that God has a plan for Luke and I. However, I am human, and I am sad, mad and don't understand how after losing Little Brian that we could lose our 2nd baby. But I truly believe that we will be blessed with a little baby some day and when that does happen, you people be ready for a party!!!!

I met with someone at church the other day. She let my cry and talk. It was goo to get out how I feel and actually speak the words of my fears and sadness and hurt. She read to me Psalm 23, and that has been repeating in my head over and over and I have found comfort in that.

Psalm 23 - The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quite waters. He restores my soul.

Something else that she said to me when we met that has resonated in my mind was to cling to God right now, go to him and that is where I will find the peace I need through this. I may not pray constantly throughout the day or sit and read my bible on a daily basis, but I know God is with me. I feel it. I am not someone to over spiritualize, but with the love and support of my family and friends and knowing that God has not left me, I will be ok, I will get through and someday hold in my arms a miracle from God. I do believe that and find comfort in that.

So for now, I have good and bad moments. I am still sad and grieving the loss of our 2nd baby. But all I do is take 1 day at a time. I am thankful for the blessings in my life of family and friends and for today, I am ok!
