Saturday June 2nd, 2012

Saturday is a day I don't want to forget. Aubrie woke up at about 7:30AM, and Luke headed to the golf course. Aubrie and I spent our morning out on the deck. I enjoyed my coffee and she played in the morning sun. We got dressed and headed to the park. We went down the slide a mission times, she swang and we sat together and drank our water. I wish the morning could have been taped so I can remember every detail. :)

Luke came home around 12pm, we ate lunch and then Aubrie was off for her nap. Luke and I set up ladder ball and played that, relaxed in the sunshine on the deck while we got our ribs on the grill and ready for dinner. Those things just aren't for kids you know!

Aubrie woke up about 3pm and then we sat out front and played with the neighbors.

It was seriously just a perfect day that ended with a wonderful rib dinner, potatoes and fruit and a trip to DQ for dessert.

When we asked Aubrie if she wanted Icecream, she screamed really loud, "YEAH!"

The night ended with a bonfire at the neighbors once Aubrie was asleep.

A great memorable day before our family of 3 becomes a family of 4.

When there is nothing you can do....

A helpless feeling is awful and when there is nothing you can do to help the people you love, it is hard.

I am also reminded not to take for granted what I have.

On another note....I am so NOT prepared for this baby!!! I have pulled nothing out and have gone through nothing.  I sit at work and joke about being gone for 3 months, but it just doesn't seem real. I need to get going as this baby will be here before I know it!

Choices we make...

3 years ago this spring I made some pretty bad choices in my life that affected every part of my life. Today I am thankful for an amazingly loving, forgiving and wonderful husband. By turning to God I truly feel that he has blessed us with an incredible little girl and another on the way. I am so excited to see the journey Luke and I have ahead of us.  I love my husband so much...an amazing man!

Oh Life

People probably don't even realize that I have started to blog again...that is just fine. I do it more for myself....

I can't believe that I only have 3 months left until I can meet our little girl #2 aka Baby S or Baby L or Baby H.....Not sure on her name yet. And it is truly bugging me that I don't know it. I guess I will just have to meet her first! :)

I can't wait for our family of 3 to be a family of 4. And I can't wait to not be pregnant again...probably ever...but they say never say never so I am saying probably never again.

Aubrie is so much fun right now. I look forward to every moment I get to spend with her.

Luke had to work late tonight so it was just Aubrie and I for dinner. We sat down at the table and starting eating. I realized we hadn't prayed yet, so we stopped and she held my hand to pray. At the end of the prayer I said "amen" and she said in her little sweet voice "amen", without hearing the 'm' sound. It was so cute.

Aubrie really is talking up a storm. She can say: momma, daddy, Papa, Mimi (for grammy), sadie, hogan (which sounds more like hoagie), blue, juice, baby, Auntie, Please, Thank you....the list goes on, I just don't feel like writing them all.

I never knew that this little person could be such a joy and help teach Luke and I more and more about God's love. I can't wait to meet her sister!

where does the time go...

My little punkin will be 1.5 years old / 18 months on Saturday!!!! WHAT!?!? Somebody pinch me! How the heck did this go by SO fast!? It makes me sad that she is so old already, but she is so amazingly fun right now and I love watching her learn new words, new things she can do and seeing her explore everything around her. She is such a joy. I can't wait everyday to come home from work and get to spend time with my little punkin.

In this picture I was 24 weeks pregnant....I am now today 27 weeks pregnant! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going, though I feel at times it is not going fast enough.

I definitely have gained plenty of weight already and would like to be done with that, but I know I still have a ways to go. The hardest part of this pregnancy so far has been back pain and heart burn. Thankfully I have a dad that can help in the back department and I just got some medication from my doctor for the heart burn....so the next 12 weeks should be smooth sailing...right?! :)

It is truly strange to think about our family changing. I feel like we are in such a good routine and life is pretty easy with 1 and now we go on and are adding another!? Are we crazy!? I know it will be wonderful, but at times it does seem a little overwhelming. 2 kids and 2 dogs....here we come!

I am most excited to meet this little girl and see what she will look like. Oh and figure out her name. I knew 110% with Aubrie of her name, but this baby is totally different. Nothing I hear or think about I am completely sold on. We are throwing around about 5 different names right now, so it probably won't be until she actually arrives that we name her.

I just hope that I continue to feel well and can keep up with home and work life.

A Peaceful Night of Sleep

Hopefully I can get back into blogging, because I do enjoy it... :) (PS- Jess, thanks for the reminder you told my sis...I kind of forgot about my blog!)

I wish I could explain what the last 7 weeks have been like. I will start at the beginning.

Luke and felt in our hearts the desire to have another child. Also, my sister is my best friend, I want Aubrie to have a brother or sister to have that type of relationship with...it is different than any friendship.

So we decided to "try" again. Luke wanted to try right away and I went back and forth as to when I wanted to start "trying". And realized that I would rather start sooner than later just due to everything we faced up until Aubrie.

So....Positive pregnancy test at 5 weeks along! Luke was thrilled and I was excited too, but the nerves almost immediately kicked in for me. I have been faced with "Your baby has anencephaly" 2 times and, "there is no heart beat" one other time. Those nightmares played over in my mind too easily and unfortunately nightmares and almost daydreams started. I found myself the past 7 weeks in a very difficult place. Not knowing if this baby would be ok or not, was tearing me apart.

I really didn't expect to be that affected by the emotions of not knowing since we have a Beautiful, Healthy, Amazing little girl....but I think knowing what we can have and knowing it can be taken away so easily scared me.

Thankfully I have a loving husband to help me through and people that prayed for me. More than that a God who gave me comfort as I took one day at a time for 7 weeks!

I counted down the weeks, to the days, to the hours, to the minutes to find out if this baby was ok or not.

By the grace of God this baby has a perfect little brain and a strong heart beat! We couldn't be more excited for our family to grow....and so sometime around July 19th, there will be a little baby added to this family and I am so thrilled.

So last night for the first time in 7 weeks I finally feel like I got a peaceful and restful night of sleep.

Here is Baby!!!!

We are having another BABY!!!! Due July 19th!!!

We just met this afternoon with the Perinatalogist and they confirmed our baby has a healthy brain growing and everything looks perfect so far!!!

These past few weeks have been stressful not knowing if our baby is healthy or not.

PRAISE GOD for another healthy baby coming!!!

Much will be decided in 30 Minutes........Hopefully good news to come!

I am sorry for my tardiness....



My blogging days have definitely slowed down...forgive me for my tardiness.....I am up and running again on Facebook...find me under Ali 'Gallagher' Peterson :)



Today I was feeling totally overwhelmed on my way home from work. Being a mom and working full time is hard. I am so exhausted from work and yet I have to come home to a house with chores to be done, dogs to take care of and a baby that I can't seem to get enough time with. I mean, she is almost not even a baby anymore!!! My baby is going to be 1year old this month! I can't even believe it.



I guess I just have to pray for strength and stability from God.....the help I need to get through each day!
