Lets not Get OLD!

Luke and I spent last Saturday moving my Grandparents from a Senior high rise in Edina to Wildflower, a Memory Care center in Maple Grove. It is very nice and they actually have the nicest room in the whole place!

Moving consisted of going through a TON of junk.....unpacking boxes that my grandma had packed for her kitchen....she doesn't have a kitchen in her new place.Needless to say, it was not the most fun day, but successful. We had everything set up in their new place and it looked just like home!

On Monday I picked up my sister after work and headed to see my grandparents in their new place. This was an interesting situation. My Grandpa can't say our names anymore but did recognize us. He wasn't making much sense but kept asking if we were going to bring him home. I tried explaining that he was home....but he didn't really understand. The past couple days have been stressful for my dad. My dad has basically had to put them to bed every night. They have tried to pack up and leave. The doors are locked and they can't leave the building, thankfully....it's not like they have a car to go anywhere anyways.

Other than that not a lot is going on. Work has been busy.

I am having an Open House on Saturday, January 26th from 10am-1pm to preview our new SPRING CATALOG for lia sophia.

If you are interested, please come. I will have coffee and coffee cake for all!

I am at work today, feeling a little better so that is good.

Thankfully it is Friday and I can relax and rest this weekend. I was hoping to make it through without getting the horrible cold that is going around, but unfortunately it got me. I slept in our front bedroom last night because I really don't want to get Luke sick. When Luke gets sick with a cold he is sick for like a month. It was weird, I woke up this morning and wasn't sure where I was at first.

Ok, that is boring...........everyone have a great weekend!

ARE YOU READY FOR IT???????????

AMERICAN IDOL........starts tonight baby. This is one show, well besides Biggest Loser that we watch Religiously! I can't wait to start watching the horrible singers and how they make such fools of themselves...it will be wonderful.

On a side not, Luke and I had a good weekend. Didn't do too much exciting.

Our dear friends are going to be having a baby in the upcoming week or so. I am SO excited for them and can't wait to meet Nora's little sister.

That is it for now....nothing too exciting in my life right now.

OH WAIT! I forgot to tell you. Bethany called me from Africa on Sunday morning. It was SO good to hear her voice. I miss her like crazy. It is weird to have your friend so far away and just not being able to communicate like you used to. Right now she is in the transition stage, getting used to the culture in Yei and the people. She started her job and it is going well so far. She is doing a lot of observing but anxious to start doing work. I miss my best friend like crazy, but wish her the best and am excited for the journey God is taking her and her husband on.

Until next time. Ali

Friend or Enemy?

I haven't decided yet if the elliptical is my friend or enemy. As most people have a New Years resolution mine has been to get back in shape, Not to loose weight, because I know I am a small person, but to get back to Jazzercise and working out. My goal is to work out 5 days a week, taking Fridays and Sundays off. Thus far, I have been successful. Working out makes me feel better about myself and I just feel all together happier. 15 minutes may not seem like that long to you, but when you are starting out on an elliptical, it is waring. I am proud to say I am up to 18 minutes now. I go up by 3 minutes every time.

Oh and to set all your minds at ease. I have decided to take my 15 hours and have a broker hold my real estate license. What can it hurt, right?

I have a jewelry party next week. I wasn't so sure I wanted to continue selling Jewelry after a big blow up ridiculous encounter with a hostess over $15, but I realized that it wasn't me, but her. So next week I have a show and then the last Saturday in January, the 26th I will be having an open house at my house....more details to come! :)

Real Estate License? or No Real Estate License? That is the Question

So today I found out that I can get my real estate license re-instated by taking only 15 hours of Continuing Ed. credits. If I do this before June 2008 that is all I have to do. But if I for some reason later down the road want to get my license re-instated, then I would have to take 30+ hours and re-take the test, which I DO NOT want to have to do again. So I am strongly leaning toward taking my 15 hours and getting re-instated w/ a Broker and just keeping it. You never know when you will need it I guess!

So what do you think? Real Estate License, or No Real Estate License? Should I be able to call myself a Realtor again?

Christmas in Africa...for Kurbis and Bethany

Our friends Kurbis and Bethany are in Africa. Well I sent Bethany a couple Christmas presents when they left for them to open up. They sent pictures of them opening up their presents....I thought these pics. were so great and wanted to share them w/ all. We got Kurbis the movie Superbad and Bethany a couple different things. I wrote a bunch of cards for the year and some random ones for her to open while she is living in Yei.

Pictures to proove it

We spent Friday night looking for a restaurant to eat at in Maple Grove, we ended up at Don Pablo's, not my favorite place, but it was pretty good. We then headed to Best Buy because at dinner we came to the conclusion that we needed to by Superbad and Knocked Up. So Friday night we watched Superbad...that movie is SO funny! I could watch it over and over!

Saturday we ran some errands and then I cleaned the house and worked out. We headed over to the Martin's around 6pm for dinner and ROCK BAND. It started with just 4 of us, but by the time we left there were 7 of us playing Rock Band....it was SOOOOOO FUN! I love the drums, they are my favorite.

Oh.....we also saw the movie Juno on Saturday afternoon. I HIGHLY recommend the movie....it was SO good!

Rock Band....Here we come!

Tomorrow night Luke and I are heading to our neighbors house for a little pizza, beer and some ROCK BAND history in the making. We have Guitar Hero, that is super fun. But I wish we had an Xbox 360 just so we could get Rock Band...it is that great. I will take pics. since I have a camera now and post them after tomorrw.

Happy Weekend Friends!

Brief Summary of 2007...where I left off...

Christmas was great. I got a new digital camera from my mom and dad! Thanks parents! Love ya!

We headed out of town at 3:30am on Wed. and were in Toronto eager to see the city. We were greated at the Hard Rock Cafe where some thugs decided to join our table and wouldn't leave....I about shit myself....ok, well maybe not, but I seriously thought we were about to get shot.
We walked a lot! Went to the Hockey Hall of Fame (lukes dream come true), the CN Tower (which was closed because of their holiday), Saw a sweet Dinosaur exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum, At Sushi at a Restaurant called Nami, had a Spa day (highlight for me...included hot tub, 1 hour massage and pedicure, with my husband....what a guy!), Visisted the Eaton Center, a great shopping mall, where it was Invasion of the Asians, and Indians....not to be racist, but we seriously were the minority in Toronto, we saw that Canada is seriously obsessed with Hockey and that is basically what is on TV ALL THE TIME....Again, luke was in heaven. We had a great time and would highly recommend it for a long weekend!

We had Sari and Ryan and John and Rebecca over on Sunday when we got back. It was a lot of fun to hang out, drink beer, eat food and play games...I even dyed Sari's hair....I went into the wrong profession....it looks awesome :)
I worked New Years Eve day, however it strangely felt good to get back to work. We then headed to Benihana's where we met Marty and Jessie and enjoyed a wonderful meal, that was proabably a little overpriced. After that we came to our house....Jessie and I ventured to the neighbors to play a little Rock Band...the nigth consisted of a lot of Wii playing and watching the ball drop and wishing poor Dick Clark wasn't on TV....poor guy.
Well I have high hopes for 2008, I feel it will be a great year... basically 2007 SUCKED for us, so it only can get better, right?

Here are just a couple pics. from our trip....
