Terrible Horrible, No Good, Very Bad NIGHT!

I was so excited as I pulled in the driveway from work last night. I made a great dinner, and was heading to a secret place to get scrapbook "embellishments!" I couldn't wait to go! I left with my neighbor and walked into a HEAVEN for scrapbookers.

On my way home I was so thrilled at everything I had bought for so little. I then got a call on my cell phone from Luke, "When will you be home?" Now this was a normal question, I told him in about 20 minutes. Then I get a call right before we turn into the neighborhood and he says, "When will you be home? Did you go to Coborns today?", I said, Yes, Why? Luke went on to tell me that the bottle of Loratadine (generic brand of clariton) had been eaten up, destroyed by my dogs. Now this isn't uncommon for them to destroy something that was left on the counter, but a whole bottle of 30 pills, 10 milligrams each, yeah, not so good for a dog. By the time I walked in the door Luke was already on the phone w/ the Veterinarian Toxicologist. He got off the phone and they told us what we needed to do........We needed to induce vomiting on both dogs since we didn't know which actually ate the pills. My dad went online and read that if a human consumes that much Loratadine your Kidneys can start to shut down. So needless to say after I heard that I was a little nervous. My dogs only weigh 50 and 60 pounds!

We were instructed to give the dogs bread and then proceeded to use a baby nose picker thing (thanks Erica for letting us borrower it) and give them each 3 tablespoons of Hydrogen Peroxide. Weird, I know. So we did this and then walked them. If that didn't work we were supposed to give them both more peroxide. Well first 20 minute walk around the block neither of them had thrown up. So we gave them more peroxide. Then I walked them again, finally Sadie did her thing. It was not pretty. (Sorry to gross you out!) Hogan still wouldn't, so I called the Toxicologist back and she said to give him more, so I did, then I walked him again. Finally as I was on the phone w/ my neighbor telling her the story, Hogan threw up. He came to me with this sad look on his face, I felt SO bad that I had to make them do that. I called the Toxicologist again and she said that I needed to monitor their heart rates for the next 4 hours and if their heart rates went below a certain # or above I had to bring them into the emergency vet. We went to bed and I woke up monitoring their heart rates. They seemed ok. Finally at 3:30am I woke up and was warm because Hogan was snuggling right next to me, poor puppy. I took them down to their kennels to find that Hogan had thrown up 2 times in his kennel. So there I am in my pj's turning on lights at 3:30am cleaning up vomit. NOT FUN!

I finally got everything cleaned up and got back into bed and was frickin WIDE AWAKE!!!! I layed there feeling guilty for putting them back in their kennels, afraid if something would happen to them and I would be upstairs sleeping. I finally fell asleep and woke up late and was a little late to work. Sorry for the long story, but that was definitely a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very BAD NIGHT! And yes, the dogs were ok this morning. Thankfully we only spent $60 to speak to a Toxicologist over the phone rather then having to get their stomachs pumped and spend God knows how much!

6 Weeks.......

This week's major developments: The nose, mouth, and ears that you'll spend so much time kissing in eight months are beginning to take shape. If you could see into your uterus, you'd find an oversize head and dark spots where your baby's eyes and nostrils are starting to form. His emerging ears are marked by small depressions on the sides of the head, and his arms and legs by protruding buds. His heart is beating about 100 to 160 times a minute — almost twice as fast as yours — and blood is beginning to course through his body. His intestines are developing, and the bud of tissue that will give rise to his lungs has appeared. His pituitary gland is forming, as are the rest of his brain, muscles, and bones. Right now, your baby is a quarter of an inch long, about the size of a lentil bean.
I forgot to tell you all about my favorite time of day, OR NOT! For the past week after I eat lunch, I feel like crap and have to go to the bathroom and get sick. It is not fun. I have been lying down in my office for about 10 minutes everyday and then get up and feel a little better. By the end of the day I am ok, but it is just funny. This pregnancy is SO different from the last.

I looked this morning for my camera cable thing so I can try to take a pic. of my ultrasound pic. and I couldn't find it anywhere! UGH! So frustrating! So, hopefully someday I can get the first little pics of the bean on here.

Tonight I am going to the dollar store to load up on scrapbooking stuff.......I am SO excited. That is all!

Right last time, Left this time

Today I had my first ultrasound. I found out that I don't ovulate like a normal person 28 days, mine is 35 days. So I am 6 weeks pregnant today! That means my new due date is April 22nd. I was a little disappointed at first, but then I realized, the later I deliver the longer I get to be off in the summer!

When I was pregnant with BL they showed me that the egg came from my right ovary. With this new little bean it came from my left ovary. Already, things are different! Yea! Also, we were able to see the little bean of a baby and hear its heart beat. It was 98 beats per minute which is good for how far along I am. The technician even said it was amazing that she could detect the heart beat that strong this early. Yea! Another good thing.

I have my first prenatal next Tuesday morning. I am hoping she will go over how they will be monitoring me and all that fun stuff. Once I figure out how to get my pictures of the kid on here, I will! Yes, people are laughing at me, cuz I keep calling it a kid :) I should stick with Natalie's term "bean" sounds much better!

Anyways, So that is the scoop.

Hope all of you had a good day!

Weekend Over....Wa Waaaaa

Friday night........I ended up having scrapbooking at my house, which thankfully I had cleaned my house earlier in the week, so it was ok for me to have people over. It was super fun. I got all of 3 pages done. I am now a major "embellisher" as I like to call it, which takes me longer to get pages done. I actually scrapbooked our first trip to Vegas, how long ago was that? Yea.....
We had a great time and I was up until after midnight.......woo hoo for the pregger girl!

Saturday my Mom and Dad picked me up and we headed up to the Lake for some R&R. It was a gorgeous day. We sat outside with my Aunt and cousin and laughed and talked about Boy and Girl names. I have to name my child after someone who has died.......Jewish tradition. So instead of the first name, I decided I would keep the tradition alive with the middle name. The thing is, girls names are a lot easier for me than boy names. BBL was great and the water was gorgeous! I can't wait to go again this weekend. It was just depressing how fast the weekend went by.

Only 9 days until my Best Friendly gets home! I can't wait to see her face........and Brian's too :)

Tomorrow I have my first ultrasound. I will update everyone afterwards.

Ali and Pregnancy

I have been feeling pretty great so far. I really can't complain as my neighbor is throwing up every day.

However, here are some of the things I have noticed since being pregnant.

1. Don't mess with me when I am hungry. For Example....I was stuck in traffic yesterday on my way home from work and was SO hungry. I didn't have anything to eat in my car.....I became so frustrated that I seriously almost started crying (thank you hormones). I then got so mad at the traffic that I screamed at the top of my lungs in my car....again, thank you hormones! Then I was laughing at the fact that I actually started screaming in my car!

2. For some reason on Monday I started crying at work for no reason. My boss came in to see if I was ok, I was basically laughing and crying at the same time because I knew the only reason why I was crying was again, because of the hormones!

3. The girls..........when I take my bra off, I feel like I have bricks hanging from me.

4. After I eat, I get really bloated, which in turn makes me gassy........NOT FUN! And I don't remember this from my last pregnancy.

5. I am ready for a nap every day at 3pm.

6. Usually when I go to sleep it takes me quite some time before I fall asleep, now, my head hits the pillow and I am out!

So those are the things I have noticed so far. Tomorrow is the 6 week mark!

And just for all of you to know, in regards to the whole "caffeine" question. I called my doctor and she said it is ok to have 1 cup of coffee a day. So I am having a cup of coffee and only drinking 1/2 of it...just makes me feel better knowing I am not consuming the whole amount that you are able to....I know, I am weird.

Last night we had 12 guys in our garage for a fantasy football draft. Wow, were they intense. Jessie came over with my favorite little guy Ben and we had dinner, went for a walk and hung out at my neighbors house. The funniest part was when Jessie was inside breastfeeding Ben, one of the guys walked by, Jessie was covered up and he says, "What are you knitting?" I laughed so hard when he came out and said "I thought your friend was knitting, but then she said she was breast feeding!" Ok, so maybe you had to be there for it to really be funny.

Have a good day friends.

SERIOUSLY?!!??!!??!!??!!??

Are you FREAKING kidding me!!!!!!!! That is just wrong, and disturbing!!! GROSS!!!!!!!!

Graco Baby Jumper $5.....Bassinet $20....Trying to save Money....PRICELESS!

The weekend was good. Luke and I had a date night on Friday and went out for dinner at our favorite spot, Rancho Grande and then headed to see a movie. We saw Tropic Thunder.........I HIGHLY recommend it.......Super funny!

Saturday morning I rollerbladed at Elm Creek Park, love it there! Can' t wait to go back. Then I went with my neighbor Erica garage sale shopping. She is due w/ her first baby exactly 2 months ahead of me. We started out at a consignment sale at a school in Monticello. I was so excited because I always wanted my kids to have a little jumper that you hang on the door frame, because I remember pictures of my sister and I in one! It is in practically perfect condition and was only $5.....Can't beat that! I also bought a cute little squishy book from that sale. Then we found a house in Monticello that was having a sale. They had a ton of baby stuff, but the best part was the Bassinet. It looks basically exactly like this photo I have attached, other than it is cream and white. It was only $45 so Erica and I decided that we would both buy it together. That way she can use it first and by the time she is done using it I will have my baby and be able to use it. I am SO excited! It is really cute seriously in practically perfect condition!
I also bought a breast pump for $25. I know what you are all thinking, but it is in working condition and I will buy all new tubing and attachments. It was at the school consignment sale, it was originally $50, but I went the next day to get it when everything was 50% off. It is an Ameda brand and I can buy all the attachments online. Yes, you may think this is dumb of me to do, but really, if it doesn't work I am only out $25 and my boss's wife has one that I can borrow if it really doesn't work, so it is all good!
Saturday night we hung out with some neighbors in our garage. Luke has a TV in the garage, and when his work came to hang our TV in our bedroom they pulled cable through to the garage. So we hung out and watched the Olympics.
Sunday we headed to White Bear Lake to visit the Broberg's (Their daughters were the flower girls in our wedding.) They bought a house last summer and we hadn't seen it yet, so it was great to see them. We had lunch with them and hung out for a little while. Then we stopped by Luke's parents for a quick visit and then headed to my parents for dinner. Busy weekend!
That is it for now. I am going to Target tonight to buy a maternity swim suit so that I can get one on sale before the season is over. We are going on vacation in December and I will need one then.
All for now!

From 23 to 175

My HCG levels have more than doubled! I am FOR REAL Preggers :)

I have my first ultrasound on Tuesday, August 26th at 8:15am. It will be the first time I get to see the little bean! Yea! I can't wait! I may have said it before, but this time I just feel like it is the real deal. I can't even explain how happy I am and excited I am!

Last night I made an awesome dinner.....Taco Stack Up! Can't get much better than that! We ate dinner, I took my dogs for a walk before the rain started and then my parents came over. It was SO good to see them! They had a great time on their missions trip in Peru. I am so proud of my parents. My mom gave a couple talks at the high school about Abstinence and my Dad spoke on being a Man of Integrity! Sad for Luke and Ryan, they left their gifts in the hotel. But they bought me a beautiful Al Pacca scarf, really cute gloves for winter, and the cutest little sweater for a baby! Ahhhh! My mom just couldn't resist!

I was pretty tired, but we ended up watching the Olympics and seeing Michael Phelps win another 2 gold medals last night. Can you say AMAZING!!!!!!!

The only thing I have noticed so far, besides the "girls" being so sore, is that I am SO thirsty all the time! The past 2 nights I have woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I NEVER usually wake up in the middle of the night, but I guess all that water will do that to ya! So I guess I better get used to it, cuz I still have a ways to go! :)

Also........One more story for ya'll! Luke and I were lying in bed last night watching the Olympics. My puppies started wrestling and all of a sudden Hogan came flying up on the bed! Boom! He hit me in the eye. My eye hurt so bad I started cyring! Now, I don't think I would usually cry over something like that. Then I couldn't STOP crying! I was hysterically crying....for NO reason. I told my doctor this morning that I started crying yesterday for really no reason and couldnt' stop, so I have to guess there are hormones running through me like crazy. She lauged and said, oh and I am sure there will be more to come! So, it is funny now that I was crying, but wasn't at the time..........I guess again........another thing to look forward to!
